What is the difference between Moore Quality and a DIY solution?
The primary concern is safety. The homeowner may over-apply and cause unsafe conditions for themselves, their family, pets, neighbors, and the environment. Over the counter products are not as reliable or as strong as the chemicals that professionals use. Moore Quality technicians are trained on proper application and are licensed by the State of California to handle pesticides. Moore Quality technicians have been trained on pest behaviors, characteristics, patterns, and proper techniques to manage them.
Is what we spray safe for children and pets?
Moore Quality technicians are trained on products registered with the Environmental Protection Agency and apply Category III (lowest in toxicity) pesticides in accordance to product labels to minimize or eliminate risks. In addition, technicians provide customers with instructions on label adherence. Your safety is our number one concern. We survey the property for safety precautions before treating, including removing pet water bowls, food and toys, children’s toys and other items handled by humans. Even relatively non-toxic materials still require safe handling and precaution; therefore, they must be properly applied and it is important that customers always follow instructions. Generally, humans and pets must be kept away from the treated areas until chemicals are dry.
What forms of payment do you take?
We take cash, credit card, debit card, and online payments through PayPal. We set up your account for automatic credit/debit transactions after your service is completed for your convenience. You can also pay in person, online, or by phone.
How long do materials take to dry?
For outdoors, it varies depending on the temperature and weather conditions. During winter, for example, materials usually dry within an hour. During the summer, materials usually dry within 30 minutes. For indoor, it takes generally 1-2 hours, but may take longer and are subject to conditions inside the home. Keep children and pets away from treated areas until they dry. Your technician will provide further instructions.
Do I have to sign up for a year-long contract?
No. We offer a variety of different service structures based on your needs. We offer contract services with a built-in discount and no-contract services for convenience on a bi-monthly or monthly basis to maintain your property pest-free. We also offer one-time service that may be more suitable for certain types of issues such as rodents, for someone selling a home, or for someone who wants to try the service. However, contract service is the most common choice because it offers the best savings and value. View our plans here.
Why should I have recurring service?
A routine maintenance service is key to keeping your property pest-free, as the duration of pesticides is no more than 2 months. A routine treatment will protect your home from invasive pests year-round and you will avoid going through the initial intensive process and higher initial cost again to bring the pest population back under control.
Is it normal for more bugs to appear after the first treatment?
It is common for roaches, ants, and other insects to become more visible after the first treatment, because we have disturbed their habitat. This is why Moore Quality schedules a second treatment the following month to bring the problem into control at the initial stages. Thereafter, maintenance service is generally only needed on a bi-monthly basis.
Is it common to see pests crawling around a week or two after service?
Yes. Most of the chemicals we use act differently when first applied wet, compared to when they dry. Wet chemicals will eliminate insects on contact within minutes, but when the chemical dries an insect that enters the property picks up material as it walks across it, initiating the process of breaking down the central nervous system. This process can take up to a few days depending on the amount of material the insect picked up.
Will pest control completely eliminate all pests from my property? What is a realistic expectation?
Pest control means controlling the pest population on your property. We can guarantee that we will exterminate the pests that were on your property the day of service. We cannot prevent pests from coming onto your property from neighboring homes, the streets, or other entry points. In other words, total elimination is not guaranteed. However, regular treatments maintain control to prevent populations from re-establishing. Our guarantee ensures free re-services between cycles if infestation begins before your regular scheduled service.
Do you spray in the rain?
No. There are some products marketed for application in the rain; however, in our experience, those products are generally not reliable and regular products cause run-off into storm drains if applied in the rain. Therefore, Moore Quality waits for optimal weather conditions so materials are properly absorbed into treatment areas with the environment and safety in mind.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes. We schedule some Saturday services depending on technician availability.
Do you provide discounts to veterans, first responders, and seniors?
Yes to All. Please call or email for more details.
What happens if I have a problem in between services?
We guarantee our services. If pests begin re-infestation between service cycles, we return to re-service without extra charge.
Are Moore Quality technicians licensed?
Yes. All technicians are required to be licensed by the California Structural Pest Control Board.
Does Moore Quality do Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?
Yes. Pest control requires more than pesticides and traps. To do it properly, Moore Quality implements IPM, meaning utilizing knowledge of pest characteristics, behavior, habitat, and the best techniques for eradication. This includes utilizing methods that promote sanitation, pest exclusion strategies and site work, managing pest habitat, using traps and targeted pesticide application.
Can I be home during the application?
This depends on the type of service. For example, service for indoor roach infestation will require leaving the property for a period of hours. On the other hand, general pest control for spiders and ants will only require staying away from the treated areas and to keep pets and children away until the materials dry. Your technician will advise you on the proper protocols.
Is there anything I need to do to my home prior to Pest Control treatment?
It depends on the type of service. We have a general guide for prepping your home before you visit, which you can view here. We also provide prep sheets with instructions if preparation work is required; your technician will advise you. You can download prep sheets here.
What if I come into contact with a treated area before it dries?
Wash the exposed areas with soap and water. Most of the materials Moore Quality applies have been highly diluted. That said, Moore Quality provides customers at each service the name and quantity of pesticides used on the electronic invoice. Consult with your physician and/or the local poison control center if you are concerned or experience symptoms.
